John Marshall (24 September 1755 in Germantown, now Midland, Fauquier County, Virginia Colony - 6 July 1835 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was an American politician and one of the country's most important lawyers. He was Secretary of State, founder of Constitutional Law and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
