Richard Milhous Nixon (9 January 1913 in Yorba Linda, California - 22 April 1994 in New York City) was an American politician of the Republican Party and from 1969 to 1974 the 37th President of the United States. As a result of the Watergate scandal, Nixon became the only US president in history to resign.
