John C. Calhoun

John Caldwell Calhoun (18 March 1782 in Calhoun Mills near Abbeville, Abbeville County, South Carolina - 31 March 1850 in Washington, D.C.) was an American politician. He was the seventh Vice President of the United States from 1825 to 1832 under Presidents John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson, a longtime US Senator and Secretary of State in President John Tyler's cabinet.
