Rudolph William Louis "Rudy" Giuliani III (born 28 May 1944 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American attorney and politician from the Republican Party. He served as the 107th Mayor of New York City from 1 January 1994 to 31 December 2001. The 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City occurred during his tenure.
